Coach Rick Desjardins began his hockey career in his hometown Windsor, Canada. He attended the University of Toledo after having obtained a track scholarship and thereafter ultimately completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of Windsor.

Coach Desjardins began coaching in 1992 and continued coaching at the youth travel hockey level until 2007. His substantial achievements during that period include, among others, an international squirt AAA silver stick championship and a midget AAA victory over the Michigan-based Honeybaked Hockey Club. For the final seven years of his youth coaching tenure, Coach Desjardins served as the head coach of several Dallas-based AAA midget teams. He also often directs goalie and general hockey camps during the off-season throughout Dallas, Michigan, and Canada.

Coach Desjardins joined the college coaching ranks in the fall of 2008. Since then, he has helped lead the Division III Razorbacks to five SECHC titles, a South Regional championship, and three appearances at Nationals. Coach Desjardins is a certified Level IV coach with USA Hockey entering his tenth season with the Razorbacks and first as the program’s Director of Player Development.

Off the ice, Coach Desjardins owns and operates his own company, Inside Sales Group, in Bentonville, AR. He has two children:  Olivia and the team’s former goaltender, Brendan.
