Head Coach Keller Sims

Head Coach Keller Sims returns to the Razorback Hockey Coaching Staff for his seventh season. Hailing from Wichita Falls Texas, Coach Sims enjoyed a successful hockey career in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where he would finish his career playing three seasons in the Texas Brahmas system before enrolling at the University of Arkansas.

In 17-18 Coach Sims served as Associate Head Coach for the Razorback team that won the SECHC conference-leading sixth title and made an appearance at Nationals in Columbus Ohio. Coach Sims returned in 2018-19 to serve as Head Coach, helping his team to a third place finish in the SECHC Tournament and sixth place finish in the Pacific Region. In 19-20, Sims’ Razorbacks, posted a 32-4 record, secured the Pacific Region crown, and a bid to the 2020 National Tournament prior to it’s cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 20-21, Sims led the team to a 19-2 record and a runner-up finish in the National Tournament, the first Finals appearance in program history.

In 21-22, Sims secured his 100th victory on his way to leading the Hogs to a MACHA South division title, a MACHA Regular Season Championship, and a MACHA Conference Tournament Championship in their first season competing in their new conference. The 21-22 Razorbacks would secure a #4 seed in the National Tournament and would advance to their second consecutive Frozen Four appearance. Coach Sims was named the MACHA South and ACHA Coach of the Year for the 2021-22 season.  2022-23 was another successful year for Sims’ Hogs as the team qualified for a fourth national tournament. The Hogs have qualified for the National Tournament in five of his six years behind the bench.

Coach Sims holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in kinesiology from the University of Arkansas (’13) and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (’19).  Away from the rink, Coach Sims is a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Arkansas and has a passion for helping individuals who are affected with orthopedic injuries and neurological conditions. In his spare time, he enjoys to golf and spend time with his wife Cailtyn and sons Nash and Parker.
