Coach Brian Gallini

Current Team

Head Coach Brian Gallini joined the University of Arkansas program in the fall of 2009.  During his tenure at Arkansas, his teams have won more than twenty games in six seasons including a single thirty-one win season.  In his time as the Division III Head Coach (09-15), the team went undefeated in regular season conference play twice (09-10, 13-14) and never lost a post-season SECHC tournament game in five appearances. Outside conference play, the team was ranked nationally in every ranking period for all six seasons (24 consecutive ranking periods) including a number one regional ranking for an entire season (13-14).

In Coach Gallini’s inaugural Division I campaign, he led the team to a #21 final national ranking–the highest finish in ACHA history for any team in its first DI season after moving from DIII.  The team’s #21 finish also gave Arkansas the best finish of the five teams that made the jump to Division I in the 15-16 season.

In eight seasons with Arkansas, Coach Gallini has amassed a 186-92-8 record, five SECHC titles, five top ten South/Pacific Region finishes, and three trips to Division III Nationals. He was voted the 2013-14 SECHC Coach of the Year, moved the team to Division I in 2015, and led a successful fundraising campaign to build the program’s first-ever team lockerroom.

Prior to joining the University of Arkansas, Coach Gallini served as the Head Coach for the University of Pennsylvania Men’s Hockey Team. From 2006-08, Coach Gallini authored the team’s first playbook, redesigned the team’s jerseys, revamped the team website, raised sufficient funds to remodel the locker room, began a community service program, implemented a dry-land conditioning program, initiated a “stay and play” program for prospective players, and began radio broadcasts for all home games.

Before joining the college ranks, Coach Gallini helped lead Northern Virginia’s high school travel team for two seasons to an overall record of 53-16-7. Following a move to Michigan that next season, Coach Gallini enjoyed similar success, leading his Traverse City high school team to the league championship game and the semi-finals of the state district tournament.

Coach Gallini holds a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross (’99), a J.D. from the University of Michigan (’02), and an LL.M. from Temple University (’08).  He is a certified Level V coach with USA Hockey entering his eighth season with the Razorbacks. Off the ice, Coach Gallini works as a law professor at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville School of Law. He lives in Fayetteville with his wife Beth and their two sons—Braxton and Caden.
