DI starts three day swing through Arizona

On January 12, 2017, the #33 University of Arkansas Men’s Division I hockey team (6-17-2) rings in the New Year against the #20 University of Arizona (11-12-1).  Arkansas has not played for over a month, having closed down the first semester in early January at Missouri State.  For its part, Arizona has played a pair of games against Arizona State, having split the series last weekend.  After taking game 1 against the Wildcats by a 7-2 score, the fell to Arizona State 12-4 in game 2.

These two teams last hooked up when Arkansas hosted the Wildcats on October 28-29.  The exciting back and forth series featured a 5-4 overtime shootout loss for the Hogs in night one followed by a 5-4 regulation win for Arkansas in the second game.  The puck drops on Thursday, January 12, at 8:30 pm CST and fans can watch the game live at game time here.

When the game ends, the Razorbacks will travel to Tempe ninety minutes away to settle in for a pair of games against the #4 Arizona State Sun Devils (18-4-0).  The Razorbacks’ lone meeting against ASU came on a Thursday night back in Springdale when, on October 27, the Sun Devils handed the Hogs a 5-2 loss.  Game times for the series are 9 pm CST on Friday, January 13, and 8 pm CST on Saturday, January 14.

Following this road trip, the Hogs return home for a critical nine game home stand.  That stand opens with a rematch against the #16 Midland Warriors.  Game times for the January 20 & 21 series are 7:30 and 4:00 pm, respectively.
